About us

Our History

Mission Science was borne from a desire to tackle these challenges. We are a female led-team that bring a wealth of experience in the science communication and animation industries, working globally with academic researchers, research institutions, non-profit organisations and pharmaceutical companies to name a few.

  • Having worked alongside one another for many years, we realised that despite the incredible strides made in science and research, critical areas like women’s health in particular, remain under-communicated. A significant portion of medical research is conducted primarily on male subjects, leading to a lack of understanding about how diseases manifest in women.*

  • Our idea for Mission Science was not just inspired by our expertise but also driven by personal conviction and passion to break taboos, raise awareness, empower women and spark dialogue. We care deeply about these issues and believe in the transformative power of animation visual storytelling to bring them to light.

  • Our goal is simple yet ambitious: to make science communication more inclusive, relatable, and impactful. By highlighting and bringing women’s health research to the forefront along with other underrepresented stories, we aim to foster understanding, spark conversations, and drive change. Together, we can help the world see the full picture of science and ensure every voice is heard.

CHAMPIONING WOMEN’S HEALTH THROUGH VISUAL STORYTELLING

  • Kate Rossiter

    CO-FOUNDER & CLIENT DIRECTOR

With a collaborative and empathetic approach, Kate excels at building strong relationships with her clients. Dedicated to making women's health research not only understandable but impactful due to having experienced chronic pain with no clear diagnosis, this has inspired her to co-found Mission Science, with a strong commitment to making women's health research both accessible and meaningful. Kate has over a decade of experience helping academics. By combining creativity with clarity, Kate works closely with groups during the initial stages, strategising the best approach to help transform technical and sensitive topics into visually engaging narratives.

Throughout her career, Kate has partnered with a variety of groups all over the world, helping deliver tailored solutions that truly align with their vision.

When not at work, Kate is mainly at the beach playing frisbee with her beloved high-energy cockapoo.

Han truly looks at the full picture when building communication content from start to finish to ensure that it always delivers its powerful messages and creates impact.

Outside of work, like Kate, Han is truly dedicated to being with her miniature dachshund, Missy.

OUR TEAM

At Mission Science, we bring together a talented and diverse team of women’s health science writers, animators, and 3D generalists to create impactful, engaging, and accessible science communication content that creates an impact.

  • Women’s Health Specialist Writers

Our science writers specialise in women’s health, crafting stories that make complex research approachable and compelling for any audience. With expertise spanning fields in women’s health such as fertility, menopause, pregnancy, as well as breast health to name a few, our writers translate cutting-edge research into clear, accurate, and relatable narratives. Whether breaking down the intricacies of women’s health issues and how this is communicated or not well enough as the case maybe, our writers have a deep understanding of storytelling's power to inspire and educate.

  • Animators & 3D Generalists

Our animators and 3D generalists excel in creating visually stunning health content that communicates ideas with precision and creativity. They have extensive experience in the medical communication field, developing animations for healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and public health campaigns. Beyond medicine, their work also spans broader science topics, from environmental awareness to physics simulations. With a keen eye for visual storytelling, they ensure that every frame contributes to the narrative, making even the most complex subjects engaging and easy to grasp.

Together, our team understands the unique balance of scientific rigor and creativity required to tell meaningful stories impactful for everyone.

Let us help you share your research in a way that resonates.
